Empowerment through inspiration

The style of writers who blend African and Western inspirations is as powerful and fascinating as the waves that break on the sand, sometimes violently and sometimes so gently.

Our association therefore strives to highlight them through new and friendly approaches.

Literature is a nutrient of the mind

Power of inspiration belongs to humanity

Our objective is to bring together Caribbean writers, publishers, and readers, and to foster a better understanding of contemporary literature from the Caribbean through the history of the islands and their specificities. The geographical distance between continents and the west Indian islands makes it difficult to promote Caribbean literature, which deserves a more prominent place on the shelves of bookstores and libraries. Our association aims to engage in the organization of literary events in addition to the various book fairs, but with different approaches, to increase the interest of those involved in the book industry in writers who seem distant, yet who integrate French history and culture into their narratives and literary styles. Our association aims to advocate against all types of discrimination. Knowledge of young authors who champion urban cultures is as essential as that of authors driven by poetic inspirations marked by experience. For it seems that one or more steps have been missed since the writings of Césaire and Glissant. Steps that would be welcome to rebuild. From novels to poetry, essays, and pamphlets, Caribbean literature has been greatly enriched by world cultures, particularly French culture. The latter would benefit, by a reverse movement, from absorbing and interacting more broadly with the styles and contributions of the Caribbean regions. These literary events could take place annually, or at least every two years, if our approach arouses the curiosity and enthusiasm of all literature enthusiasts.
